The Difference Between Home Health and Hospice

Home health and hospice are both involved in caring for patients in their own homes. Both services are dedicated to respecting patient rights and decisions and involving family members in the patient’s care. Both services are also committed to making their patients comfortable and improving their quality of life. Both home health and hospice can be beneficial to patients and their families at different stages of a patient’s illness progression. Home health provides the majority of its services at the beginning of care and tapers off as the patient becomes more independent. Hospice provides the majority of its services at the end of care, when the needs of the patient and family increase.

Springhill Home Health and Hospice is proud to offer both services. Our team assists patients and their families throughout their continuum of care from diagnosis and throughout disease progression. We are committed to providing the highest quality of services to patients based on their unique needs, and we strive to provide patients with what they need at the time that they need it.

Springhill Home Health provides an array of services to help patients recover from illness or injury, restore function, and/or learn to live with chronic disease. Under the care of concerned professionals, patients are given the support they need to recover or stabilize in their own homes.

If a time comes when home health is no longer able to provide optimal care due to progressive illness, Springhill Home Health can ensure a continuation of care excellence by transitioning to Springhill Hospice.
