Julie joined the Hospice of North Alabama team in 2013 and currently serves as the Regional Director of Operations for Alabama. She began her career as an RN Case Manager and later served as a Clinical Administrator for the Huntsville office. Julie said she has treasured each moment that she has spent alongside her patients and their families as well as each opportunity that she has had to work side by side with her teammates. “I was the case manager for a precious lady several years back. She and I had a routine. Well, she had a routine and I followed it. I had to get in and get her assessment done so that we could be ready to sit side by side and watch the Price is Right together. She taught me to love every second of life, no matter your circumstances,” Julie said. She said the patient loved to dance, put on fashion shows, and wear jewelry with her pajamas. “She found a way to make even the smallest things special”—like making it a point to offer Julie pear preserves at breakfast because she knew it was Julie’s favorite, although what Julie truly valued was the opportunity to sit at her patient’s table to share stories and jokes. “Each visit, before, I’d leave, she’d hold my face in her hands and tell me that she loved me. I know without a doubt that she did,” Julie said. When she is not serving others, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband and son Eli, antiquing, and road trips. “I look forward to every second I get to spend with my family,” Julie said.
